With the noble aims and objectives to impart higher education in the discipline of Law, Barpeta Law College was established in the year 1972. I pray my homage to all on whose efforts and generosity it was established and has come to this present shape. It is the only premier legal educational institute in Barpeta District and is guided and motivated by its vision to play a key role in the transformation of the youths into competent and qualified professionals having skills and confidence. Presently, the college is permanently affiliated with Gauhati University and recognized by the Bar Council of India to run 3years LL.B and 5years Integrated B.A, LL.B (Hons.) Courses. The college authority takes adequate steps and cares for the overall development of the college to make the students educated, skilled, socially responsible, positive, and good citizens. I am very much happy that Barpeta Law College, Barpeta is going to publish its biennial college magazine i.e. “SAM-HITA” for the session 2017-18 very soon. I hope this college magazine will be immensely beneficial to all concerned.
